I’ll be staying here, on Medium, I changed my mind

Here’s why I won’t be writing on Vocal

I was really over the amount that Medium was trying to pay me for my articles this month and I was really ready to just say, fuck this shit. But then something hit me, I realized the reason why I write on Medium regularly is much larger than just trying to earn money monthly.

Now I wrote an article talking about trying Vocal, and while I love the way Vocal has its platform setup it’s totally inconvenient to me. The inconvenience lies within the followers and the platform not having a mobile app, plus the time spent.

I’m not cheating on you Medium.

Every good writer wants to be read. The problem I have with Vocal is the followers will have to really connect with you in order to feel motivated to see more of your work which could take forever to establish. Also, good writing on Vocal typically falls into a category and it has to be approved.
